Junior Varsity Coach Sarah Haugen The Junior Varsity Wildcat softball team will be lead by Coach Sarah Haugen as she enters her second year with the Eagan High School softball program after coaching the Dakota Hills Middle School program for the past 7 years. Haugen coached the Wildcat Sophomores in 2009. Coach Haugen hails from Decorah, Iowa where she competed as a 4 sport athlete at the varsity level including basketball, volleyball, track and field and softball. She received honorable mention her junior year and made the First Team All-Conference and All-State teams her senior year as a third baseman in softball. After graduation, Haugen attended Winona State University where she competed in Track and Field for three seasons, then became a student assistant coach for the Warriors. She graduated in 2001 with a teaching degree in Physical Education, Health Education, and Developmental Adapted Physical Education. Upon completion of her degrees, Coach Haugen began her career as a teacher and coach in District 196. She is currently in her 8th year as a Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education Specialist at Northview Elementary School in Eagan. Throughout this time, she has had many coaching opportunities within the district including assistant sprint coach at Apple Valley High School, 7th grade girl’s soccer, and 7th-8th grade fast pitch softball for Dakota Hills Middle School. Haugen graduated with her Masters degree in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary’s University in May of 2008 and is now a facilitator for the Graduate program. Coach Haugen resides in Farmington.
