Junior Varsity Coach
Laura Naig
Junior Varsity coach Laura Naig is in her second year with the
Wildcat program this year. In 2009 she coached the Wildcat
Freshmen.
Naig graduated from Kasson-Mantorville high school in southeastern
Minnesota in 2004, where she played volleyball, basketball and
softball for the Komets. Both her junior and senior years, she was
honored to be a captain of each sport and help lead her volleyball
team to two consecutive state tournament appearances, earning 2nd
place and consolation champions, respectively. She was also awarded
the Most Valuable Defensive player as a catcher during her senior
softball season.
Naig then attended Bethel University where she played on the volleyball
team all four years and softball for her final three years. Like
high school, she was chosen as a captain for both teams the last two
years of playing. After leading her volleyball team to a NCAA
regional tournament appearance just last year and being selected to
the All-MIAC conference team, she earned All-region honors following
her senior softball season.
She received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology and is also the
junior varsity coach for the Irondale high school volleyball team.
She plans on going back to school to earn her Master's degree in
Sports Physiology and get involved with a college or university to
teach.
Naig currently lives in New Brighton, MN.
